How to Solve Number Series Questions:

            Whenever you see logical number series question in the competitive exam, first of all you can calculate the difference between each number. After that you apply for all logics to those numbers like addition or subtraction, multiplication, division, square etc

1) Find out the Missing number in the following series
     1, 3, 7, 13, 21,?
A) 29    B) 32    C) 33    D) 31
In the above question first you can calculate the difference between the each number
i.e.,      difference between 1 and 3 is 2.
            difference between 3 and 7 is 4.
            difference between 7 and 13 is 6.
            difference between 13 and 21 is 8.
Now you have clear idea, in the above question for 1 they added 2 so the next numbers is 3. After that for 3 they added 4 result is 7, next for 7 they added 6 so the result is 13, next for 13 they added 8 result is 21, now we here for 21 just adding 10 then result is 31.
Note : Here We are using addition logic

2 ) Find out the Missing number in the following series
    35, 28, 22, 17, 13,?
A) 10    B) 8      C) 9      D) 11
In the above question first you can calculate the difference between the each number
i.e.,      difference between 35 and 28 is 7.
            difference between 28 and 22 is 6.
            difference between 22 and 17 is 5.
            difference between 17 and 13 is 4.
Now you have clear idea, just observe the difference between number series 7,6,5,4. That is in the above question exact series is  35,28(35-7), 22(28-6), 17(22-5),13(17-4), ? . So now the answer is 10 (13-3) That is Option A.
Note :Here We are using Subtraction logic

3) Find out the Missing number in the following series
   2, 6, 12, 20, 30. ?
A) 40    B) 44    C) 42    D) 46
In the above question first you can calculate the difference between the each number
i.e.,      difference between 2 and 6 is 4.
            difference between 6 and 12 is 6.
            difference between 12 and 20 is 8.
            difference between 20 and 30 is 10.
This is same as the first question, like first question the answer is 42 (adding 12 to 30).In the first question we are using addition logic in the same way here we can use multiplication logic also…
The above number series also can written as (1*2),(2*3), (3*4), (4*5), (5*6),?
So the answer is (6*7) = 42 (Option C)
Note (Here we are using multiplication logic)
